Perhaps you’ve noticed one major similarity between Whoopi Goldberg and Sherri Shepherd and you might be wondering if I chose them to co-host “The View” for that very reason. The answer is a resounding yes. Both women have 14 letters in their name, as do I, and according to my numerologist, 14 is my lucky number. Rosie O’Donnell’s name only contains 13 letters, and 13 is abominable luck for all of us, as you’re well aware.

If some of you scoff at this, just remember: Nancy Reagan once led the country based on astrology, and ‘50s sex symbol Jayne Mansfield once held Séances with her hairdresser who happened to be a medium. I realize neither Whoopi nor Sherri are mediums. They are larges or extra-larges, but so be it. Angelina Jolie, a medium, was willing to take the job, but her name contains the same number of letters as Rosie O’Donnell.

As far as Whoopi defending Michael Vick on her first appearance as “The View” co-host, I will not comment. All I’ll say is that she shouldn’t have chosen to discuss this on her premier episode. She has many future weeks and months to say stupid, offensive things.
