My ex close friend, ex guest co-host, and famed D-lister Kathy Griffin has been scolded by the Catholic League for her Emmy-acceptance comment:

A lot of people come up here and thank Jesus for this award. I want you to know that no one had less to do with this award than Jesus.

In all fairness, it should be noted that the President of the Catholic League is a paunchy priest with cataracts who’s been accused of pedophilia seven different times. That said, I do not condone Kathy’s remark. In fact, I think she should be severely disciplined for offending countless Catholic families and Jews For Jesus, not to mention Christian Bale. Punishment should include any two of the following:

• A ban from appearing on primetime television for one year
• A public stoning by senior clergy of the Catholic diocese
• A forced viewing of the film version of “Mame”

Plus, I suggest it be arranged for Kathy to get stuck in an elevator with a Jehovah’s Witness, a Pope Benedict look-alike, and Ann Coulter for three consecutive hours.
