Because of the writer’s strike, I’ve decided to cut back on my own writing, which will free me up to do more drinking.
Since comic book writing isn’t actually “writing,” and since I’ve got this useless program on my MacBook called ‘Comic Life’ that has a really cute icon but otherwise serves no purpose (until now!), I’m trying my hand at comic blogging.
This is a great idea. I can tell. Ten people have already told me not to do it, so that means I’m on to something.

LOLKatie:
I like to think of it as 'drawing with words.'
And, besides, most comic books write themselves.

More Katie in action please!

Um, comic book writing really is "writing." Haven't you heard?

Comic book writing isn't really writing?
Ouch!
For your edification, to a comic book writer, that slam is equivalent to a print reporter telling you that news anchors aren't really journalists.

Thanks, R. Maheras, but I'm managing editor at CBS News--I don't need more edification because I'm the great edifier.
Can you really call adding 'POW' and 'ZAP!' to pictures 'writing'? I don't think so. Next you'll tell me that a comic book has won a Pulizer Prize! I can just imagine: a cute little comic about mice as Jews and cats as Nazis... Hey, I think I have my next children's book!
