We were all so looking forward to my good friend Barry Manilow making an appearance on The View to pedal his new album. But the legendary entertainer decided to back out because he didn’t want to be near Elisabeth Hasselbeck whom he labeled a “dangerous and offensive” woman.
I must confess that this wasn’t the first time a guest declined to come on the show because of our perky Elisabeth. A few other celebrities (who shall not remain nameless) find Elisabeth vile, venomous, vain, vicious, and even some words that don’t begin with the letter “v.”
The following stars also refused to sit on the same stage with Elisabeth: Sandra Bullock, Shia LaBeouf, Cormac McCarthy, Bono, Dame Judi Dench, Bobby Brown, Andy Dick, Gael Garcia Bernal, Hilary Swank, Congressman Barney Frank, Dolce or Gabbana, Diane Keaton, Dyan Cannon, Brandy, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Joyce Carol Oates, Haley Joel Osmont, the creator of Preparation H, Judith Regan, Milla Jovovich, Will.i.am (whoever the hell that is), Marc Jacobs, Maya Angelou, Keira Knightley, Ben Kingsley, Queen Latifah, Prince, Joan Didion, Andy Samberg, Salmon Rushdie, Josh Hartnett, Kate Hudson, Cate Blanchett, Kate Spade, Kate Beckinsale, Wanda Sykes, the entire cast of “Weeds,” and the list goes on. It’s longer than Schindler’s.
But all is not lost. Despite Elisabeth’s blatant stupidity and altogether irritating presence, we have managed to book many illustrious guests on The View including Dr. Phil, Lisa Rinna, and Tori Spelling. Please take time to watch The View.
