Sigh.
Well, shit. Things are not looking that great for your pal, Nouri. Not at all.
The other night, while I had my face in the toilet vomiting blood, a vision came to me. It was an eagle carrying a young falcon in it’s jaws. And it was flying high over the Euphrates. After a moment of it’s majestic gliding it looked directly at me, dropped the limp-bodied falcon, and said, in Arabic, “I am going to kill you, towelhead.” Of course when I came to I realized that those words were spoken by General Petraeus who had been hiding in my bathtub all night with a hunting knife clenched in his teeth.
Nonetheless, maybe it’s time to hang it up. As a silver-lining, Charles Krauthammer had this to say about me today:
Maliki is not just weak but unreliable.
Sure, that doesn’t seem like a silver-lining, but at first glance I misread it as:
“Maliki is NOT weak but instead supremely awesome.”
Which I thought was a nice thing for him to say.
Sigh.
